Julie Nelson: "It's OK to hit reset", author, mentor and coach shares her best lessons.

Julie Nelson has just released her second book this week, and she is truly someone who is so giving with her advice and counsel. She is a mentor in every sense of the word, and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to chat with her about her career trajectory and lessons learned.

When I asked her what was the greatest lesson she has ever learned, she responded "to be unapologetic about who I am and what I bring to the table.". How powerful is that??? Forget real estate, that's a life lesson!

Throughout her career, she teaches that "it's ok to hit reset.". You have to have a business plan for your career goals, but they will occur in stages. She teaches that someone should be a great sales manager for themselves, then a COO, CFO, and finally a great CEO of your own business. One of her valuable thoughts that I took away with me was her advice to "Be a Better Boss to Yourself.". Why would you treat your business with less respect than you would someone else's?

"Remember, you are starting over every day.", she reminds us "Know Your Value!".

Her other piece of advice I thought was powerful was, "uncomplicate your business.".

You know what you have to do. Break it down and do something every day, which will propel you forward.

I encourage you to get her book, "Success, Faster, On Fire, Hot!" on Amazon today. You can also order on

Thank you, Julie, for your leadership and our conversation.
